Where can I get more information about admission requirements, fees, and program availability?

For information about admission requirements, fees, and program availability, go to the International website for each of post-secondary institution that you’re interested in attending.

If you cannot find the information there, contact the International Admissions department.

Can I apply to multiple programs at multiple institutions in one application?

As an International applicant, you must submit a separate application for each institution that you are interested in attending. Each institution determines how many program choices you can add to an application.

I want to apply through an agent. Can you refer me to one?

OCAS does not make agent referrals. However, the institutions that you are interested in might be able to help you. Contact the International Admissions department.

Is financial assistance available for international applicants?

You cannot receive financial assistance from the Canadian government. However, we do have information about scholarships and bursaries for international students. See Fees and Financial Considerations.

I’ve applied to one post-secondary institution. How do I start an application to another one?

To start a new application for a different institution:

  • Go to the International Applicants - Apply Now page.

  • Select the Apply/Log In link for the institution you’d like to attend.

  • If the institution you’re applying to uses the OCAS International Application Service (IAS), when you reach the Login page, enter your existing account credentials. You don’t need to create a new account.

I started an application for a post-secondary institution. Can I transfer it to another one?

No. You must create a separate application for each institution. For instructions, see the previous question.

Once I submit my application, how long does it take to get an offer letter?

To find out about processing times, contact the International Admissions department of the institutions that you are interested in attending.

What documents do international students need to apply?

The documents required for international applicants will vary from program to program. For detailed information about applying as an international applicant and about specific documents, visit the International Applicants page on our website.

What are the language requirements for International students to attend post-secondary institutions?

For information on English language proficiency and other language requirements, visit the Proof of English Proficiency page on our website.

Can I come to Canada as a visitor and then attend a post-secondary institution in Ontario?

No. If you want to attend a post-secondary institution in Ontario, you must make all the arrangements before you leave your home country. You cannot make the arrangements once you are a visitor in Canada.
